No, not kidding at all. You'll feel better once you get over the cognitive dissonance.

But it does appear you have some difficulties with my analogy.

The chess board contains all the elements on which planning and prognostication are based, including international law, economics, capabilities, alliances, etc., the backdrop against which events take place. Countries and leaders are the actors, the chess pieces, if you will. Like some chess pieces, some are more powerful than others.

But you have neatly sidestepped the discussion.

Because you have not responded substantively to a single point I made, I ask you again:

Tell me again, knowing that given enough cash it might very well be possible to obtain nuclear weapons without the need to develop them internally, why Saddam was not a threat.
