It saddens me to see the comments of spending 200 billion so that we can loot 20 billion and yet no mention of the other cost is made. If it was that simple that the Iraq war was just the wasting of taxpayer money.

costofwar.com

The cost of the Iraq war is much more than just truckloads of American dollars - it is the 800 plus dead Americans! The real cost is the suffering and pain of the thousands upon thousands of American soldiers and Marines who have been injured - who will carry their injuries for the rest of their lives. The real cost of the war is the breakup of families with husbands or wives removed from their families - f*ck these neocons and their pretense of "family values"! The real cost of the war is the added tensions throughout the world where American reputation is now something less than spit. And what of the innocent Iraq people caught in the war - their dead and their wounded?

The real cost of the war will be felt for generations of Americans and it won't be just a few hundred billion dollars!
