Do you think thats how the minutemen felt? Some things are worth dying for. I don't subscribe to better Red than Dead. A lot of other people don't either. There are principles at stake. Do you feel that the Jews should have fought back against the Nazis? Shouldn't the educated Cambodians have fought back against the Khmer Rouge? Maybe they would have lost, but they lost their lives anyways. Primarily guns are for self defense against animals and violent criminals many times who are not armed themselves. Don't assume that violent criminals are armed to the teeth. Its around a third of homicides are committed each year in this country with hands and feet. See the FBI Uniform Crime Statistics. 15% are committed with knives.
