That's correct...nobody knew that Saddam had WMD. No one knew he had them. Some surmised the possibility that he had them. For the moment lets assume that he had them. Let's also assume that he already handed them off to a terrorist organization.

Can you tell me how attacking Iraq stops the terrorists from taking the WMD that they got from Saddam...or some other source...and sending them on a barge up the Hudson River? Or to some other port city?

You see the action Bush prescribed in Iraq does not prevent the very scenario that you say I'm gambling lives over. To date the homeland has not been protected adequately. Who's checking shipping containers for WMD? Safe guarding chemical plants? Water supplies? Tanker trucks? Tankers?

Problem is...attacking Iraq does not prevent any of it.

Worse yet is that there is no evidence of collaborative efforts between Saddam and Al Qaeda...which means expending energy against Saddam further dilutes protecting Americans from terrorists.

You have to start thinking out of the Fox.
