You're right (about the level on which debate should focus)
but I think it's too late for the Democrats to adopt
such an above the fray stance. They've associated themselves
too closely with people like Michael Moore and others
who are prone to over the top commentary and the Kerry
campaign itself has not properly distanced itself from
inappropriate rhetoric.
