Wow...Wayne, your post is full of fear mongering.

And if Iraq does not have WMD, then surely NK, Syria and Iran do...not to mention China. How can you sleep at all?

We're not out of the woods yet but 300 million Americans can rest more comfortably because if WMD were trasferred there is probably a good chance we would have seen an attack already somewhere in the world.

Like you already said, you can hide a BW/CW in a small volume. Anyone can make a WMD. Timothy McVeigh built a WMD, except he forgot to use the truck bomb as a launcher for BW or CW. A few cannisters of gas stuck in the truck would have been distributed all over the city.

Terror strikes can be accomplished with a small group of people...even one guy. WMD can be made with a little knowledge. You feared the trailers right? Well if you can make WMD in a trailer, then certainly you can make them anywhere. You don't need to get the WMD from Saddam.

As for getting WMD from Saddam, you can get them from many many places. Iran, Syria, NK...you have cash you can buy them. Now are there WMD factories in the Sudan? Africa? Indonesia? Are you afraid that there might be a trailer in those countries? How about a small warehouse? How about your neighbor's garage?

The invasion of Iraq did not stop any terrorist from his mission. If the people in America believe that then we are in trouble. The homeland is still very vulnerable to attack. What percentage of the budget has been spent on homeland defense? It pales in comparison to the effort to get Saddam, and Saddam posed no credible threat. We had no intelligence that Saddam actually possessed WMD. We only had intelligence assessments which drew the conclusion that he might have WMD. When you conclude that someone might, you have no conclusion at all...only a guess.

You are no safer today after the invasion of Iraq then you were on 9-11-01.
