As I've repeatedly said, but you have obdurately ignored, it makes no difference whether S. was stupid, crazy, or simply dumb. His history showed that he was dangerous in the past. Nothng was going to turn him into someone who could be trusted not to fiddle with our vital security and economic interests. And, yes, our interests trump the sovereignty of his brutal dictatorship, or do you wish to argue that point, too?

Your point about Aziz supports my thesis--he was doubly dangerous because he did not listen to experienced voices. Thanks!

There is little more I can say to convince you except to suggest that having such a loose cannon on MidEast decks ready to sink the global ship was indeed dangerous.
