Joe, re: It is not reasonable doubt in civil cases. Yes, I know. Our major difference is that I trust my fellow citizens more than a mixture of elected and appointed judges. You don't. You think juries are too soft on criminals, and too tough on companies or professionals. On the other hand, I also trust the (sentencing) judges more than I do the legislatures that hand down their sentencing "guidelines" from on high. In many cases our judges have to hand out heavy jail sentences for victimless crimes that are "politically incorrect". John
