So you would agree with me that there should be a legal requirement to document the information delivery, by sign off. To my knowledge this is not the case. How much responsibility should the Doctor have to educate the patient? What if there is an IQ problem on the part of the patient, or if the patient doesn't listen to understand the risks and signs off any way? Should the Doctor deny treatment that she would otherwise recommend?
