Re: the poll you responded to....Did they ask if you were first generation to US, or what criteria would/did they use for asking if you were Eastern European...did they mean your father or mother or both...or your grandparents or all four of them...if so, what if they were all born in different places...? The whole question is silly....A few years ago, we had a program where descendants of Jefferson (was it Thomas or his brother??) and Sally Hemmings were the speakers....one line was white, and the other dark skinned. So what were they? Except wonderful people..... They asked more detailed questions about ethnicity. I don't recall all the options but Eastern European was one of the choices if you were white. I'd be curious what comes of that.
