<<Sharon was willing to sign a non-use of nuclear weapons agreement. El Baradei, the nuclear weapons watchdog of the M.E. was very pleased. Could this be part of a plan to have all M.E. countries sign such an agreement? But why do it at this time? Due to fear of radical Moslem groups having possession of nuclear (or "dirty") weapons?>>

It happens I understand Jewish hardliners mentality very well. I think M.Gibson in his "Passion of Christ" tried to portray those hardliners and I think he achieved his goal. But slight majority of Jews are great humanitarians and our civilization owes them a lot.
With the invasion of Iraq, hardliners smell the danger, their treatment of Palestinians is equal to the treatment of Jews by Nazis and this comparison is not my. It came out of the mouth of serving justice minister of Israel. Unfortunately WMD don't separate hardliners from moderates.
Palestinians are forced to live in ghettos, suffering by all means. Suicide bombing was used with great results by young Jewish girls in Warsaw ghetto during WWII. Israel is very small in teritory, any WMD could have devastating effect on population, if they respond with nukes toward Arabs response from leftovers of Arabs states with the underground support of European and Asian States would cause total destruction of Promised Land for many generations. This is the reason why Sharon is so eager to sign the pact, but unless his administration will change the treatment of Palestinians it is a time bomb. I don't know how long Palestinians will hold on. Maybe despite my love to this region I never considered to move over there after I. Rabin was murdered.

BTW, if Sharon is not confirming nuclear arsenal, so is Iran. The real solution to the region is to rename as it was in first place - Palestine. Equal rights to Jews and Palestinians, return of stolen through the wars lands and properties to the legitimate owners and start over again. Not to be worry about well being of the Jews - they would be more prosperous in Palestine than in Israel. In their long history they never achieved anything lasting by using force. US like Romans one day will wake up and say - to hell with all the lobbies. Economic drastic downturn in United States might be the catalyst.

To keep with the subject of the thread - Sharon should give up himself to the international court In Hague and together with Saddam since they face almost identical charges should have very fair trials, would be easier for the world to understand if the crimes were committed or not
