Too bad that's not what we're doing.

They spiked even an effort to simply LIST the most dangerously insecure chemical plants located in major metro areas (and that listing was supposed to be done by the Department of Homeland Security, in cooperation with the EPA, which already has some knowledge of these risks because they have previously studied the matter.)

Before you object --- the listing was supposed to REMAIN classified --- so that our enemies couldn't find out where we are vulnerable.

This bill had UNANIMOUSLY passed two Senate committees... until the Industry's lobbists trooped in and killed it.

('Out of sight, out of mind', eh? We're safe just as long as we PRETEND there is no danger, right?)
