They have used hysterics, lies, blatant distortions & intentional deceit in an attempt to scare folks into opposing the Act. When I applied for a re-fi on my mortgage last week, I had to fill out and sign a Patriot Act form. Just what the hell my mortgage has to do with terrorism is something I'd really like to know. Just because some nutball raghead terrorists are bent on attacking the West is no reason for us to willy-nilly throw our cherished civil liberties out the window. The latter has much more potential to cause damage to this country than the former, IMO...
