Kerry "Gains Support" While Going Down In A Poll
Dodd Harris said this so well all I have to do is quote his post:

The first AP-Ipsos poll conducted after he named Edwards as his running mate finds John "Weeble" Kerry down by 4 points (49-45; margin of error 3.5%); Nader is at 3%. A month ago, this poll found Bush leading by 1 (46-45) with Nader at 6%.

IOW, in the last month, Bush's support has gone up by the same amount Nader's has gone down while Kerry stayed flat. So, how did the AP choose to headline this story? Kerry Gains Support In The South. story.news.yahoo.com

They don't even try to hide it any more, do they?

No, they don't.
