I have NEVER been told that antibiotics can cause BC pills to fail. Never even been asked if I am using BC pills. I don't, but how would they know unless they asked?
A couple of days ago, I had x-rays of my hips and lumbar spine because I have a lot of pain in the left lumbar area. I was bemused to note that the Dr. checked a box which says "Pregnancy is not possible," without asking.
In fact, my husband has a vasectomy, and I don't fool around, but she didn't ask. Even though I am almost 52, I still have regular menses. I have no idea whatsoever whether I am still ovulating. Is it really impossible for a 51 year old woman to be pregnant?
I usually ask for the lead apron, but of course you can't use that when the x-rays are of the hips and lumbar spine.
I think she breached the standard of care, but there was no harm involved, lucky for her, lucky for me, lucky for a potential unborn child. |
