In a way, 911 The Road To Tyranny, looks almost like it was already being produced prior to 9/11, as if the 9/11 aspects were tacked on before they were properly researched. I don't know if that was the case, but it looks to me as if 9/11 was plugged into the middle of a documentary intended to be based on Oklahoma City.
In a lot of ways I still have a hard time making up my mind about Jones. In places he appears well informed and sincere, in others he comes across as a wild eyed fanatic without a lick of common sense.
Like you, I also have trouble with the "New World Order" conspiracy theories. While to a certain extent I can go along with the idea there is circumstantial evidence to support questions along those lines, the more colorful versions strike me as being over the top on the paranoia scale. Obviously, giving criminally insane, rouge political figures enough power to realize anything resembling a "New World Order" type scenario is a fantastically bad idea, but wackos rarely have the sort of vision necessary to encompass events several hundred years out. Most crooks operate from an instant gratification point of view, which I feel is more in line with the kind of windfall profits realized from 9/11. I don't know that eliminates NWO fantasies of the voices in their heads variety, but I'd tend to view that aspect as secondary to opportunistic grabbing of wealth and power. The Zionist movement is much closer to his picture of a New World Order, but he rather carefully avoids making that connection.
<<<Jones gives no advice as to what the people should do, one wonders what the point of the movie was>>>
Well... he does appear to conclude with insinuations of armed rebellion as a last resort. Unfortunately, the arguments he makes throughout his film appear to support gun ownership by the least responsible members of society. I don't think Waco would be the example I'd use to advocate responsible gun ownership by citizens, in the interest of self defense. If that's his platform, I think his approach could benefit from a more rational presentation of information. IMO, the decision to own a gun should be based on a desire to avoid trouble, rather than to act as a lightning rod to attract trouble. |
