My dad was here and saw your message before we went down to the garage to work on my sister's car, and he also asked if I saw Tommy Chong on the Tonight show. Nope.

And we thought we were doing quite well on the car, too. Nissan Pulsar NX that just wouldn't move at all or even grind the gears. Took out the tranny and clutch and found that the clutch was in two pieces, and the input shaft of the tranny moved around a LOT.

He got another tranny from a salvage yard, we put it in, ended up having too much of a struggle with one of the driveshafts, took off the circlip that was giving us all the fight, finished putting it together, filled it with grease, drove it, parked it, and noticed a puddle accumulating under it.

The driveshaft we were having trouble with didn't go in all the way and we couldn't get it to. Pulled it back out and found that the circlip had screwed up the teeth on it when we were using a 24-oz persuader to try to encourage it to go in.

So it's sitting outside leaking into a pan and looks like we're gonna have to finish tomorrow.

I really hate doing tranny/clutch stuff on most FWD cars.

And it took all day. I just now came back in. Thought I was gonna do some programming, but a shower and sleep sounds much better.
