dood..I've SEEN Robert Randolph..TWICE! You ain't chittin'...they blew the whole crowd away at last year's ACLfest. I was sidestage for that one and could see the energy and drive in Robert's eyes...no doubt they deliver live. HIs smile tells the whole story that new Clapton CD is purty good....especially when compared with his last few releases. On the other hand I listened to SLOWHAND and 461 OCean BLVD (You can squeeze them both onto ONE CD) a couple times through recently...that was CLapton's highwater period as a solo artist (IMO) that sorta country rock blues thing he had going then was supercool. I have a theory that he stole that whole laidback "sound" from JJ CALE I have traced the end of Clapton's relevance to the first Michelobe Beer commercial..that's when it all ended for SLowhand ....I blame Phil Collins for all of that.. now it's just reading glasses and old hits revue for SLowhand. JJ CALE has a new record out..."To Tulsa & Back" ..any JJ release is reason to celebrate
