To be absolutely blunt about it the US would be well on its way towards withdrawing from iraq if the dead and dying included significant numbers of upper class and especially upper class neo-con Americans.

The Bushies simply do not care about the lives of soldiers from working class backgrounds ( and that includes most of them). Bushie types have spent the past 20 years doing everything they can to screw average Americans and generally have utter contempt for anybody below the upper middle class.
