I don't think there will be any "Profiles In Courage," volume two, books written about this generation for this episode in American politics. Large agree with that, but a few stood up--Robert Byrd, for one. His amendment, if passed, would have stopped the war, though not the buildup. He also was one of the few who publicly and repeatedly said that the buildup and the fear mongering was about domestic politics more than anything else.
