Well, I'd have to disagree that it's a "sorry situation." The Iraqi people are far better off now than they were.

I'm not opposed to military interventions for humanitarian reasons, in principle.

One of my earliest memories is the Hungarian uprising, October, 1956. I was born August, 1952. My mother had the radio on and we could hear the Hungarians asking for the rest of the world to come to their assistance. She was crying, and asking why nobody would help?

It made a powerful impression on me, that I've never forgotten.

The United States has fought wars to end oppression before. This one was even in our own interest. We are in grave risk from "failed states" like Iraq because the "root causes" give terrorists an excuse.

So, WMD or not, the result isn't bad at all.
