Congress was told things by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice that were 100% absolutely false. What Congress was told went way beyond the "intelligence" Bush was receiving. I think the Democrats should have been far, far tougher on Bush el at that time than they were and should have voiced their concerns, even knowing they would be smeared as "unpatriotic". They should not have accepted his war hype as fact. Congress failed to do their job in that sense.
