OT/What has happened to Layton's smile? He seems so serious now. He wants to be consulted on the missile program, Peetro-Canada sale etc. (Legally, I don't think Martin/Goodale have to consult Layton on PCA.TO). He seems interested in throwing his new weight around. OTOH, Canada does need a defense system and I'd love to see Martin cut the civil service by 20% to pay for it. Better than raising taxes, I say. Layton would, of course, oppose. Job creation/protection and more debt is their way. I wonder how long this minority gov't can last.
