Good analysis, Neocon, and your interpretation agrees precisely with mine. Apparently, we are both reading the same tea leaves.
Given the dynamics now at work throughout the electorate, and, your assumptions being correct which I believe they are, Bush/Cheney will win the election. The split may be close to that of 2000, especially in the popular vote but more particularly in the electoral vote.
Looking at what is going on in all of the battleground states, the election issues are falling precisely where Bush/Cheney wanted them to fall. And, despite the massive efforts of the liberal/left machine to change the emphases to those more favorable to their candidates, these issues will most likely continue to prevail right up to November.
In fact, if the Republican campaign continues in the direction and with the emphases now in place and accelerating, the current trends toward Bush and away from Kerry and the Dems will also accelerate. |
