B. One, of course Java might have a broad future. Even though it most likely has little to do with Corel, I'd like to comment on your arguments:
1. Smalltalk has been the greatest language to program in for a long time, but who is using it these days? Also, did you ever develop an application in Java and compare the time it took you to develop the same in, say, Delphi? 2. Few commercial applications actually need client- side processes today, but ActiveX with trusted servers is another alternative if the need arises. 3. Cross-platform capability is not really there, unless you don't care about a sophisticated user interface. As for cross-processor compatibility, P-Code promised the same, has long been forgotten. 4. So, is not being pushed by Microsoft an advantage or a disadvantage?
