Have you considered the possibility it’s the other way around, and that we are the only ones playing the game because we insist on making the rules?

Yes, in many ways, though I don’t doubt that we’d have a fair argument if we ever started going into things.

With your writing ability, you should seriously consider doing a blog on the far East.

I’ve thought of it, though I don’t think I’d want to limit it to the region. I can’t really claim expertise on Japan or China, and I’ve plenty of interests outside the area. Doing it right would require a considerable commitment of time and resources, though, and I’ve little of either to spare. We’ll see.
