Wednesday, July 14, 2004 2:12:01 PM

DOHA (AFX) - Qatar's Energy Minister Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah said an oil price of 28-30 usd per barrel would be "appropriate" compared with the current level of around 40. "In actual conditions, the appropriate price is 28 to 30 dollars a barrel," the minister was quoted as saying by state news agency QNA. OPEC's current target price band is 22-28 usd. The cartel meets next week in Vienna.

Mish note: I believe OPECs current price target has been raise TWICE since that number
