Kerry won't pull out of Iraq .....

..... I understand that, Jim. Under the Democrats, though, an exit strategy will at least be considered.

My main disagreement with the two political parties right now is that they both tied each others hands with the bipartisan "war powers" vote for bush just before the midterm elections in 2002. There was an insane, delusional patriotic frenzy that defied imagination back then.

A national consensus for the invasion of Iraq was hurriedly built. A quagmire has been established. The longer we stay in Iraq the clearer the principle motives will become. Those motives may in fact have been oil driven. I don't know. They may very well have been psychotically driven. Our current president is a sociopath and was directed by people with twisted motives.

The most demented argument I've heard lately is that bush is diverting attention from the U.S. mainland by getting all the terrorists to hang out in Iraq. That's why there have been no terror attacks in the U.S. lately.

Your arguments are probably basically right on. I just wonder how long the American public will allow a Democratic administration to stay in Iraq. The Democrats don't have as much of a vested interest in this misguided Iraq policy. I can't imagine Kerry going to Congress and seeking another massive expenditure.

This so-called "war on terror" is a big farce. There hadn't been an attack of any significance for a year and a half prior to the invasion of Iraq. And now after having "distracted" the terrorists to Iraq, another year has passed. But what do the Republicans talk about now, delaying the election because of possible terrorist attacks. The GOP, the Party of Fear and Paranoia.
