My first response was.....Nah! He'd like it. In fact I think I'd like it. Both of us passed our Historical Novel, Arthurian type legend phase quite a while ago.

It might be interesting to note that what a person reads often depends on how much time and energy he can afford at any given time. He's under the gun to complete an important project, and has little time for much else. After 14 hours of devoting his time to this project he's lucky to stay awake long enough to eat and watch the evening news. ( this is the description of what a hard working small businessman does in his free time -ng-) But I am compiling a good list here, and I intend to buy the first book in the Nicolo series for him in anticipation of him having 5-6 weeks off in the next few months.

I don't know whether this applies, but I tried to explain to him what metrosexual means last night. Setting aside the intricate, small pieces of information contained within this book, it sounds like it might better describe the term. But it is the "genuinely densely historical" aspect of this series that makes it interesting.

Thanks.
