Yes it is absurd. And of course it was political bullshit driven by some Republicans for more election year nonsense. That is also absurd.

As for rights and the constitution I'm not as up to speed on that as I should perhaps be but I'm not sure I agree that if it isn't specifically banned by the constitution then it was allowed for by the same. I don't think the constitution says abortion is legal along with gay marriage. Doesn't say they are illegal either though so perhaps the law makers are shirking their duties by allowing courts to create laws rather then them weathering whatever political storm there would be by saying these things are either legal or not and creating the laws to deal with them.

I'm kind of tired of the whole conversation to be honest. Women are going to get abortions and gay people are going to be together regardless of my thoughts or anyone elses so why don't we all, and they all, STFU and start thinking about things like deficits and Iraq and other pressing issues of the day that we are ignoring for the most part other then 20 second sound bites.

Actually why don't we vote all incumbents out and write in highly qualified people that aren't even running because they don't want any part of the process we've created?
