Not being gay, I can tell you that I could care less if they get to marry or not. I don't think it's my business.

Because homosexuals will begin to refer to their marriages to exploit public benefits as truly married couples now do, it is my business. It is my business because I helped make those public benefits possible. Those benefits should accrue to citizens by virtue of their being human and citizens. Homosexuality is not human. Indeed it is an utter corruption of humanity. So no public benefit should accrue to anyone by virtue of homosexuality. We may as well grant them to dogs and chickens in that case.

I don't think this issue requires the first Constitutional amendment to restrict the rights of a group of people, and it would seem most Americans agree on this.

Most Americans don't even vote, pal. So we can't use their tacit agreement with you as proof of anything here. You have already assumed that rights should accrue to people on the basis of their inhuman behavior. So when people like me come along to claim that rights should only go to people on the basis of their humanity, you claim I am "restricting" someone's rights - rights that never existed in the first place.
