"It's amazing how little principle actually means to you guys." Funny, Steve. The two times I have heard it (states rights)used were this time, and when Gore tried to steal the election. In that case the dems implied that Gore should be allowed to steal the election based on the repubs love for state's rights. Here with the marriage ammendment it is disingenious again in that repubs ARE for states rights, right up and until the state judiciary system goes amuck. If you want to talk about other examples, you will have to bring them up. "But ultimately you guys have lost." America has lost (if your prediction is true), and the kids with two dads or two moms. "What does that tell you about popular support for the President's position?" It shows 25% to 28% of the population supports gay marriage. Like I said, that might help the President. The UPenn poll may or may not be accurate. I would say that your charectarazation of that single poll as "many polls" is deceptive.
