Society has a legitimate interest in keeping incest illegal because genetic issues involving the offspring of such unions are detrimental to the human gene pool. The needs of the many outweigh the rights of the few. That's the government acting on fact, not ideological belief.

The prohibitions of polygamy and polyandry do not discriminate against specific individuals or groups such as gays, blacks or women and do not deprive any group of rights enjoyed by the population as a whole. The anti-polygamy and anti-polyandry laws simply say the government will merely recognize one partner in a marriage, not two or three or more. Prohibitions of gay marriage discriminate and single out individuals based on sexual preference.

Given the number of married individuals having numerous and extended sexual relations outside marriage, it would seem that the laws against polygamy and polyandry are hardly of significant social value.
