You left out Nixon and the lying hawk brigade on the right who got us into Nam. BTW: these days Johnson would be a Republican. And McNamara clearly said in the film "Fog Of War" that Kennedy was planning to withdraw our troops from Nam before he was assassinated. This is why the Oliver Stone theory makes sense, because those who stood to make the most money off the war (like what was then Halliburton's construction wing Brown and Root) stood to lose billions of JFK continued.
