I expect no amendment to ever be passed, and for the slow erosion of marriage to continue.

It's actually the expansion of marriage, not the erosion because it includes folk who wish to marry but who have been forbidden to. That's why the amendment would make the serious mistake of inscribing discrimination in the constitution.
