A company like ASND should have salespeople to do business all the time. Full sales force meetings used to happen a couple of times a year or so. In the past the world-wide sales force was brought to San Francisco for meetings, training, introduction to new products, etc. They may be getting too big for that in the future, though.... I used to enjoy it. It was a chance for me (engineer type) to meet with the sales types and hear their bitches directly :-) I can't imagine if a customer called to place an order ... Ascend doesn't sell direct except to the largest ISPs, VARS, etc. Those folks have a dedicated sales person. They know when that person will not be generally available, and also knows that all good sales critters check voicemail/email several times a day just in case. // marc
