m, I like that photo too. The Marine on the right is armed with a USMC Ka-Bar fighting knife, an M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Rifle), and he is carrying a pistol on his right hip. Most likely either a M1911 45 or a new Glock 37 (that fires the .45 GAP round). The thigh holsters appear to be the 6004 model used by Green Berets. He is wearing the latest and greatest interceptor armored vest with the integrated and removable neck piece. It also comes with a removable groin protector. The interceptor is one of the items Kerry and Edwards voted against providing the troops. Ditto for the Glock. Based on the gear and weapons, I would say with certainty that these are USMC Force Recon guys and/or members of a USMC Special Operations-Capable and Special Mission Unit. uw ps.
