You know that out of wedlock did not go down. Hasn't happened anywhere in Western Civ.

Bill, those percentages are the rate of increase, not the percent of out of wedlock births. The percent of out of wedlock births went from 33.7 to 48.9 over that particular decade. You have to look at rate of increase to assess "explosion." The rate of increase slowed dramatically.

If you go from zero to sixty MPH in ten seconds and then increase speed to sixtyfive over the next ten seconds, the latter ten seconds could not be characterized as an explosion. The first ten seconds was the explosion.
