I find that the people I know that are taking antidepressants and mood stabilizers and painkillers aren't being made happy. Rather, the drugs remove the unhappy. They take away the really bad feelings....and the really good feelings. They are numbing agents. A friend of mine used to take stadol for migraines. It didn't take away the migraine, it just made her too stupid to care. I just read somewhere that hydrocodone is the most prescribed drug in the U.S. I couldn't believe it, and couldn't believe that this fact wasn't big news. But nobody cares, because everybody is taking it, and most people who are taking it are probably either addicted to it already or halfway there. The doctors who are prescribing it like a Z-Pack should be put in jail.
