Making a bit of progress here, we both seem to agree that Saddam was such a threat that he could not be permitted a free reign. Attempts to eliminate him , even by his own own people, failed.

Even if successful that leaves Udai or Ousai as the ruler. Does anybody want to write an oil development or any other contract with one of those two?

But time moves on, they are finished, and we would be better employed to think about the next problem like N Korea or Iraqi security.
