Hyun Suk Chung, Vice President of Telecommunication Network Business said to investors in a conference call that Samsung is working on a plan to sell bar type cdma handsets to Reliance. The handsets will sell at a little higher price than cell phones released to mass markets, he said.

In response, Samsung’s public relations official said, “The handsets that we would supply to the Indian mobile carrier use chipsets independently developed by Samsung.”
