Interesting article. Not surprising at all. After all, even though potentially far more damaging, how much public support would there be for anti-terrorism efforts against American terrorist groups? While not endorsing their tactics, I'm sure many Americans on the right feel sympathetic to these right-wing terrorists causes, and wouldn't be too motivated to go after these groups.

Bring in arab/muslim/foreign terrorists, and bingo, people can't identify with these foreigners intruding on our way of life. Public support is much much stronger for efforts against these sorts of terrorists. Our government isn't stupid, they know how public relations and propaganda work. Like most things in government/life, the reality of the threat or situation doesn't dictate where the money is spent. It's more a matter of what issues the public are most interested in.
