interdigital.com This site will provide an explanation of what B-CDMA is and what IDC plans for it. 55 million dollars is not a hoax. This is what Siemens and Samsung have paid IDC in licensing agreements. I dont think they consider IDC to be a charity. I am an IDC share holder and could care less about the USA market or what technology they are going to use. The wireless market share is Europe and Asia taking 70 % and the rest of the world 30 %. The USA is included in that little 30 %. Clearly the Siemens/Samsung/Idc consortium are going for the home run in the WLL market. Yes Idc did lose to Motorla in the US courts and I am confident it will be overturned in the appeals court because of the recent Markman decision by the Supreme Court on prior art. Siemens too has taken IDC to court in Germany which is their country and lost. The other 2 parties in the suit appealed the German decision but Siemens has stated they have withdrawn from the suit. The appeal will be decided some time this fall and it is being decided by Judges not Jurors as was the Mot case. The USA has a tendency to go their own way while the rest of the world uses another standard. A great example of that is the Metric system and our inches and feet. Jim
