An interesting read is ...The French Betrayal of America
by Kenneth Timmerman. I just finished it recently.
The book goes into some depth on relations between
france and US over the years and ironicallly, the
best relationship was during Reagan/ Mitterand time.
Of course, the cold war had a huge impact on
political dymanics at that time. Also. it was a french double agent code named 'Farewell' that supllied Reagan
with enough documentation to confirm a bankrupt USSR.

Most interesting is his treatment of Chirac and Villepin.
chirac , according to this book , is a shameless
worm and de Villepin is delusional grandios clown.

Definately worth the read.
