Let me get this straight........you think that when NATO decided to attack Serbia, that the American troops under NATO should have consulted with NATO but not gone to war.

Huh? This is not hard Ted. NATO is a defensive entity. Article 5 is the meat of it...if one is attacked, it's like all are attacked. Article 4 states if one member feels "threatened", then NATO WILL consult about it. What the result of that consultation is can be anything, but there is nothing that says the result of the consultation (in this case a war) is an obligation of members. We willingly participated in the war.

You seem to be confusing article 4 and article 5.

No, I think its you that's confused. Articles 4 and 5 are not the issue; the issue is does attack on Serbia equate to the attack on Iraq. I say it doesn't and I gave you reasons why I think that way.

Bush couldn't wait......unclear why......pants on fire...that sort of thing.

It's very clear why we couldn't wait. A huge expensive force parked on his border, and losing favorable weather. You either had to do it now, or wait a year, or put our forces in an extra hard position.

Yes, and he moved those forces into place. No one asked him to......there was no change in Saddam's behavior to warrant such a move.

This is such shit........you support attacking Iraq which has killed and maimed thousands of Americans and cost hundreds of billions in order to save a couple of billion. That makes absolutely no sense.

I am so very tired of the weak defense put up by the right to justify this war. Do you really think we are that stupid?

There was no reason to believe Saddam would live up to his obligations (he's had how many chances? 12?).

Huh? In 1998, the weapon inspectors were sure that 95% of the WMD had been destroyed.

There was also no reason to believe France et al would do anything even if Hussein didn't cooperate, and we had waited. Remember France said: "There is NOTHING that justifies war".

Waiting a couple of months would not have killed no one. We all have been through this issue before; the war was a sham. Most people in this country realize that now. You can give up the pretense.....you are fooling no one.

NATO is searching for it's place in a post cold-war world. It's not really set-up for this "world police" job.

And neither is America.
