If you run for high office, your family gets hit.

Edwards Brother Wanted on Colorado Warrant

Wesley Blake Edwards, the brother of wannabe Vice President John Edwards, is wanted on a Colorado warrant issued ten years ago in a drunken-driving case.

Wow, imagine that. He's a lawbreaker!

Wesley is thirty-nine years old and is an electrician. He lives in Fuguay-Varina, NC, and was arrested on 4 November 1993 for allegedly driving under the influence, careless driving and driving without insurance, said Drew Grant, spokesman for the 18th Judicial District attorney's office.

Throw him in the slammer!!!

A warrant was issued on 6 January 1994, after he failed to appear in court in Arapahoe County on the charges, Grant said today. Attorneys for Edwards contacted the district attorney's office this week to resolve the issue, Grant said. He didn't know what would happen next, but said Edwards probably would have to make a court appearance.

Don't do the crime if you can't pay the time. I hope he doesn't get off. He should get what any other American would get regardless of who his daddy is, who his brother is or who his friends are.

The News and Observer of Raleigh, N.C. said the younger Edwards has been unable to get his North Carolina driver's license reinstated because of the Colorado warrant. After misdemeanor drunken-driving convictions in 1985, 1987 and 1990, Edwards' driver's license was permanently revoked in 1990, according to North Carolina motor vehicle records. He spent a week in jail on one of the convictions, records show. He has been charged twice with driving without a license, most recently last August. He pleaded guilty and paid a $100 fine.
