You can find all kinds of false anti-American BS on leftwing sites. The left is fantasizing that the US will be on trial, rather than Saddam. For the left, the US is the primary source of evil in the world. Monsters like Saddam or Osama are of no concern except as they can be (falsely) be portrayed as puppets of the US or as innocent helpless victims of the US. BTW Iraq did not have a long and close relations with the United States until the invasion of Kuwait in 1990. It did have a long close relationship with the Soviet Union and with France, however.
