I'm saying that these schools are, in large part, falling short of the standards set by No Child Left Behind because the schools aren't getting the money they need to make the improvements they need to.

Z, if you believe this, I recommend you read up on the so-called "Robin Hood" plan in Texas. This was the subject of great debate for a long, long time. The problem was that schools in a given district were funded by THAT district's money. So, Highland Park schools had massive funding while some other schools couldn't make ends meet. Highland Park obviously wanted its money to fund ITS schools; the other, poor areas, wanted some of Highland Park's money and claimed it was essential to the learning process.

Why do I bring this up? Because as part of this process, it was determined that some of the best schools were in the impoverished districts.

FACT: There is no evidence to support the supposition that better funded schools turn out better educated kids. None, whatsoever.

This is one of those things experienced conservatives realize while idealistic liberals don't. You can stand back and throw money at government programs from now on, but it will not insure, or even enhance the possibility of, a successful government program. Education is but one example.
