You are right. It would be helpful to know Faber's track record. But it's difficult to figure it out, since he does not have a fund but rather manages individual accounts. I thought about him because:
1. The World is his oyster (so he does not have to peddle his limited universe whether it's appropriate at the moment or not)
2. He is value oriented.
3. I remember him making a few excellent calls:
-Russia in 1999 in time of distress
-China (but indirectly), commodities and short USD - 2 years ago
-diversification now (in time of greater uncertainty).
