Mr. Ian Lambert of Trade Winds Ventures reports

TRADE WINDS INTERSECTS HIGH-GRADE GOLD MINERALIZATION ON 450 METRE M ZONE STRUCTURE STEP-OUT ON DETOUR LAKE BLOCK A DRILLING PROGRAM

Trade Winds Ventures has intersected high-grade gold mineralization within a 250-metre gap between previously drilled intersections on Section 14850E of the M zone structure on the Detour Lake block A property, one of its optioned Detour Lake properties in Ontario. Trade Winds' 2004 exploration NQ drilling program of approximately 18,000 metres is testing the M zone and Northwest zone structures extending generally east-west across its Detour Lake properties. Trade Winds has optioned Detour block A from Pelangio Mines, Detour West from Gowest Amalgamated Resources and Detour Aurora from Conquest Resources. Trade Winds, as operator, can earn a 50-per-cent interest in the Detour Lake block A property, a 60-per-cent interest in the contiguous Detour West property and a 60-per-cent interest in the Detour Aurora property, located approximately 160 kilometres northeast of Timmins, Ont.

A $2.25-million exploration drilling program totalling approximately 18,000 metres is currently under way on block A and the West block to define and extend the known areas of mineralization in the M zone and Northwest zone structures. Additionally, the company will undertake further exploration and drilling to evaluate two gold-bearing shear zones previously identified on the Detour Lake Aurora property.

Assay results from new mineralized area discovered south of M zone structure

TWDDH-008 was recently completed to a depth of 749.35 metres in order to test the 250-metre vertical gap along the M zone structure between TWDDH-002 and TWDDH-004 on Section 14850E. Both M zone hangingwall and footwall mineralization, including visible gold, was intercepted. Approximately 70 metres downhole south from the M zone structure, the lower mafic/ultramafic contact discovered in TWDDH-004/005 was also intercepted with considerable hangingwall mineralization. This mineralization consists of quartz veining and silica flooding with semi-massive sulphides in pillow selvages over 19.25 metres from 701.50 metres to 720.75 metres with visible gold twice observed. In addition, from 692.6 metres to 693.1 metres more than 50 specks of gold were noted in close proximity to a pillowed flow/dike contact. The greater extent of mineralization encountered in hole TWDDH-008 beneath the M zone structure is thought to be the result of the hole cross-cutting the lower contact in the middle of an open fold or roll.

Assay results from TWD-008 are as follows:

Diamond drilling beneath M zone near-surface resource intercepts additional gold mineralization on Section 14850E

Three diamond drill holes, TWDDH-003, TWDDH-006 and TWDDH-007, were completed near the eastern boundary of Trade Winds' block A in order to determine if any additional gold mineralization occurs at depth below a near-surface M zone historical resource calculated by Placer Dome in 1996. Placer Dome calculated a near-surface M zone, inferred resource grading 1.98 g/t gold, for a total of 173,000 ounces gold using an 8.0-gram-per-tonne gold cutoff with excellent potential to increase total ounces within resource area, due to drill density and remains open to the west.

Hole TWDDH-007 intercepted a series of quartz veined shears with visible gold, along the M zone hangingwall stratigraphy. The hole also cross-cut the M zone structure, which appears to be rolling significantly to the north. Both the gold mineralization and geometry of the structure indicate additional gold mineralization may occur along the M zone structure at depth in this area.

Assay results from TWDDH-007 are as follows:

TABLE NO. 2

Step-out drilling of M zone structure along 450-metre strike length

Drilling under way on Section 14400E tested the M zone and related structures over a 450-metre strike length from the first fence of drilling by Trade Winds on Section 14850E. On Section 14400E Trade Winds re-entered Placer's hole 439-013 and tested approximately 70 metres up-dip of previous M zone, hangingwall intercepts of 13.5 g/t gold over 3.5 metres and 8.74 g/t gold over 5.50 metres.

Assay results from this hole are as follows:

High-grade gold mineralization intercepted on 450-metre M zone step-out on Section 14400E

Diamond drilling is nearly completed on Section 14400E. To date holes TWDDH-009 and TWDDH-009010, and wedge hole TW439-013D, have been completed on this section for a total of 2,353.15 metres. Hole TWDDH-011 is now under way, with a proposed depth of 650 metres, testing the upper extension to mineralization intercepted in TWDDH-010.

TWDDH-009, located on Section 14400E, ended at a depth of 938.13 metres after cross-cutting the stratigraphy from the North-West zone to the M zone. TWDDH-009 tested the M zone approximately 160 metres up-dip of where previous diamond drilling by Placer Dome returned intercepts of 13.51 g/t gold over 3.50 metres and 8.74 g/t gold over 5.50 metres in the hangingwall of the M zone greenstone. Of most significance is the occurrence of gold mineralization in a quartz zone approximately 50 metres above the M zone chloritic greenstone and along the M zone's footwall contact. Assay results of 10.9 g/t gold over 1.00 metre and 14.89 g/t gold over 2.15 metres were obtained from the quartz and footwall M zone, respectively. Visible gold was observed in both locations.

Significant assay results from TWDDH-009 are as follows:

TWDDH-010 also located on Section 14400E, ended at a depth of 698.12 metres after cross-cutting the northwest to M zone stratigraphy and structures. TWDDH-010 tested the M zone approximately 200 metres up-dip of TWDDH-009. Significant gold mineralization was first encountered between 378.00 metres to 383.00 metres grading 9.49 g/t gold over 5.00 metres, which includes 31.70 g/t gold over 1.10 metres from 381.90 metres to 383.00 metres. The setting and style of mineralization is similar to a zone first encountered on Section 14850E (450 metres to the east) in hole TWDDH-005, which returned 11.12 g/t gold over 3.20 metres from 337.00 metres to 340.20 metres, including 58.06 g/t gold over 0.60 metre.

Footwall M zone mineralization in TWDDH-010 returned 8.88 g/t gold over 11.00 metres from 629.00 metres to 640.00 metres, including 44.22 g/t gold over 1.75 metres, which contained visible gold within fractured chloritic greenstone. In total, visible gold was noted in 15 separate locations within this hole with over 30 specks observed in just one area alone.

Significant assay results from TWDDH-010 are as follows:

TWDDH-011, collared on April 27 on Section 14400E and dipping minus 580 degrees, will take approximately 10 days to complete.

From the drilling done by Trade Winds on Section 14850E and Section 14400E, together with previous drilling by Placer Dome, Trade Winds has intercepted gold at 440 metres height, which appears to extend over a 400-metre strike length along the M zone structure. The M zone structure itself is known to occur over a 2.8-kilometre strike length on block A and also remains open in all directions. Trade Winds will continue conducting systematic drilling and analysis to test the vertical extent on Section 14400E and Section 14000E. The one-kilometre westward extension of the structure's mineralized zones from Section 14850E will continue to be tested to determine its correlation to the structural corridor identified by Placer Dome and recently drilled by Trade Winds 1.8 kilometres to the east of Section 14850E toward the eastern end of the structure where it comes to surface.

Lorne Warner, PGeo, former senior project geologist for Placer Dome at Detour Lake, is the qualified person and project geologist responsible for the Trade Winds' exploration program.
